Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 1, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains in plain English what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use JSON Parser.

The Short Version

  • We don't store your data. All JSON, XML, YAML, CSV, and other data you work with is processed entirely in your browser and never sent to our servers.
  • We use analytics responsibly. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use our tools and improve them. These tools collect anonymous usage data only after you acknowledge our cookie consent notice.
  • We don't sell your information. We never have, and we never will.
  • Contact form data is private. If you contact us, we only use your email to respond to you.

1. Data You Work With (JSON, XML, YAML, etc.)

When you paste or upload data into any of our tools to parse, validate, format, or convert it, that data is processed entirely within your web browser. It never leaves your computer and is never sent to our servers.

We do not save, store, log, or have any access to the data you work with on our tools.

The only exception is if you explicitly choose to use the "Share" feature on certain tools, which generates a temporary shareable link. In that case, the data is stored temporarily on our servers to enable the sharing functionality, and you are clearly notified before choosing to share.

2. Analytics and Cookies

To improve our tools and understand how people use them, we use analytics services. However, we do not collect any analytics data or set any cookies without your explicit consent.

How We Ask for Your Consent

When you first visit JSON Parser, you'll see a cookie consent notice at the bottom of your screen. This notice clearly explains that we use analytics tools and asks for your permission before collecting any data.

Until you click "Accept" or "Acknowledge" on that notice, we do not:

  • Set any cookies on your browser
  • Load Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity
  • Collect any information about your visit
  • Track your behavior in any way

You are in complete control. If you decline or ignore the notice, our tools work perfectly fine – we just won't know you visited.

What Happens After You Consent

If you choose to accept cookies, we use the following services:

Google Analytics

Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use our site – which tools are most popular, how long people spend on pages, what browsers they use, and general geographic regions (like "United States" or "Europe"). This information is anonymous and helps us decide where to focus our development efforts.

Google Analytics stores cookies in your browser that remember you're the same visitor across multiple visits (but doesn't know who you are). Learn more about Google's privacy practices at Google Privacy & Terms.

Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity helps us see how people interact with our tools through session recordings and heatmaps. This helps us spot usability issues – like if a button is hard to find or if something is confusing.

All recordings in Clarity are anonymized. Any text you type into our tools is automatically masked so we never see it. We only see clicks, mouse movements, and page scrolls. Learn more at Microsoft Privacy Statement.

How Long We Keep Analytics Data

We configure our analytics tools to retain data for a limited time:

  • Google Analytics: Data is automatically deleted after 14 months
  • Microsoft Clarity: Session recordings are automatically deleted after 30 days

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you block third-party cookies entirely. Here are guides for popular browsers:

3. Advertising

To keep JSON Parser free for everyone, we display advertisements through Google AdSense. These ads may use cookies to show you relevant advertisements based on your browsing history across the web.

We don't control what ads are shown (Google does that automatically), but we've configured our ad settings to avoid intrusive or inappropriate content. You can learn more about how Google uses advertising cookies and manage your ad preferences at Google Ad Settings.

If you use an ad blocker, our tools will still work perfectly fine. We'd appreciate if you allow ads to support our work, but we understand and respect your choice either way.

4. Contact Form

If you reach out to us through the contact form, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The message you send

We only use this information to respond to your message. We don't add you to any mailing lists, share your email with anyone, or use it for marketing. Once we've resolved your inquiry, we keep your message in our records for up to 12 months in case you follow up, then we delete it.

If you'd like us to delete your contact information immediately, just reply to our response asking us to do so.

5. Log Data

Like all websites, our web server automatically logs basic technical information when you visit, including:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages you visited
  • Time and date of your visit
  • Referring website (if you clicked a link to get here)

We use this data only for technical purposes – like detecting attacks, debugging errors, and monitoring server performance. This data is automatically deleted after 30 days.

6. Third-Party Links

Our website contains links to external websites (like documentation for JSON, XML, YAML, etc.). Once you click those links and leave our site, we have no control over how those websites handle your information. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect any information we do collect (like contact form submissions). We use HTTPS encryption for all traffic to and from our website, secure hosting providers, and follow industry best practices.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we do our best to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security. The good news is that since we don't store the data you work with in our tools, there's nothing sensitive to breach.

8. Children's Privacy

Our tools are meant for professional and educational use and aren't specifically targeted at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it immediately.

9. International Users

JSON Parser is operated from the United States. If you're visiting from another country, please be aware that any information you provide may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our tools, you consent to this transfer. We comply with applicable international privacy laws including GDPR for European users.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • Access: You can request to see what information we have about you (though since we don't store much, there's likely nothing to see)
  • Correction: You can ask us to correct any inaccurate information
  • Deletion: You can ask us to delete your information
  • Withdrawal of Consent: You can withdraw cookie consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies
  • Data Portability: You can request a copy of any data we have about you

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top and may display a notice on our website.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of JSON Parser after changes means you accept the updated policy.

12. Contact Us

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this privacy policy or how we handle your information, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Contact Us

Bottom Line: We built JSON Parser to help people work with data more easily. We're not in the business of collecting or selling personal information. We use analytics responsibly (and only with your permission) to improve our tools, and we keep everything else as private and secure as possible. If you ever have concerns, talk to us – we're real people who actually care about doing the right thing.
